As the day from beginning WhatsApp garnering its users day by day, that has been made WhatsApp top messaging App. The privacy and policy of WhatsApp have very clear to the user since starting. But now WhatsApp and its parent company Facebook embroiled in a controversy over its updated privacy policy. As the result of privacy and policy has seen an exodus to its rivals Signal and Telegram. Finally, WhatsApp has gone on damage control mode. Recently WhatsApp had stated that they will put the policies on hold for a month. on 17th January WhatsApp put their status with another simple way to explain its features to users.

When we go to the status, we can see the WhatsApp icon with four posts, along with the statuses. The posts are describing on the new policy.

While it looks like ‘We are committed to your privacy’, another says, ‘WhatsApp can’t read or listen to your personal conversations as they’re end-to-end encrypted’. Another post reads ‘WhatsApp can’t see your shared location’ and finally another reads ‘WhatsApp doesn’t share your contacts with Facebook’. WhatsApp reveal a statement and said that it is giving more time to users to comfort themselves with the new policy updates. “WhatsApp was invented on a simple idea which says “what you share with your friends and loved ones remain between you. Meanwhile, we will always keep your personal conversations protected with end-to-end encryption, so that neither WhatsApp nor its parent’s company can see these messages. So they don’t keep information on everyone’s messaging or calling. WhatsApp also can’t see your location and don’t share your contacts with Facebook.

What was Privacy Policy Earlier

WhatsApp on  5th January, started notified in-app notifications to its users in India and other countries, informs them about changes in its new terms of service and privacy policy.

The notification sent to both Android and iOS users is forcing them to agree to the messaging app’s new privacy rules or else face lose access to it, which will lead to their accounts getting suspended.

“WhatsApp is being updated with its terms and privacy policy,” the company said in the WhatsApp notification.

The messaging app WhatsApp has reviewed its privacy policy and forced users to accept their terms and conditions till 8th February. After making this mandatory most of the users are seeking for their alternate. WhatsApp users gathering to its rival apps, and the Signal App ended up garnering millions of users in weeks after the WhatsApp restriction.
